RECORD NUMBERS & CELEBS AT THE LAUSITZRING
2014年5月14日
45 cars to burn the tarmac at the “X-BOW DAYS”!
- On May 15-16, 2014 the Lausitzring is entirely dedicated to the “X-BOW DAYS”
- A record-breaking 33 nominations in the “BATTLE” promise pure excitement
- Celeb-studded event with skiing champion Klaus Kröll & rally ace Kris Rosenberger
- About 15 street vehicles expected at full throttle in the “free driving” session
After a spectacular start of the “X-BOW DAYS” at the Pannonia Ring, the season’s second event is to take place in mid-May at the Lausitzring, about 60 kilometers north of Dresden. Both organizer Georg Silbermayr and KTM are thrilled about the high number of registrations for the race in north-eastern Germany: “For many “BATTLE” drivers the Lausitzring will not prove easy as the track is very demanding. But what is certain is that there will be thrilling and spectacular races, and the backdrop of the “Superspeedway” is also absolutely unique. It is also very pleasing that the number of participants significantly increased compared to last year. This proves once again that we have really hit the bull’s eye with the “X-BOW DAYS”.
High suspense before the “BATTLE SPRINT“ & “BATTLE ENDURANCE“ races:
The second round of both the two-race “BATTLE SPRINT” (numbers three and four) and the one-hour “BATTLE ENDURANCE” race promise to provide high-octane suspense for Lausitzring spectators. Last year’s champion, KTM factory driver Reini Kofler, who will only compete from time to time in this season’s line-up, will not start at the Lausitzring. But with a number of top contenders, and first-time “rookies” who are more than happy to mix it with the best at the races, it certainly promises to be an even more heated battle to decide the podium places and the points.
Can the celebrities muscle in and fight for the top?
The X-BOW family welcomes two well-known faces at the Lausitzring: Rally ace Kris Rosenberger, who has been seen at recent X-BOW events and who is a true “connoisseur” both of cars, and of motorsport. “I had the opportunity to drive a “BATTLE” car for the first time ever a few days ago. That got me so excited that I immediately rented a car at KTM to drive in the race at the Lausitzring. I am very much looking forward to these two days!” But the likable Rosenberger, who recently moved from the Austrian province of Lower Austria to Styria, is not the only celebrity at the upcoming event.
Downhill racing champion Klaus Kröll will happily exchange his skis to four Michelin slicks to embark on the slippery slope of motorsport. But don’t worry: The ski racer – who by the way, like the X-BOW, also originates from Styria – also has an excellent reputation behind the wheel. Even so, he says for him the most important aspect if to have fun: “It is not the first time that I wanted to be on the start at the “X-BOW BATTLE”, but somehow it has never worked out before. I guess good things come to those who wait – so you can imagine how much I am looking forward to these races at the Lausitzring!”
Many participants at the “free driving” session, free entry for fans and spectators:
As already mentioned by Georg Silbermayr, the large number of registrations for the “free driving” sessions is especially positive, indeed as many as 15 entries were received. The participants will drive on road-licensed tires and perfect their driving skills on the track. Visitors can also rent various models of the X-BOW family and test them on the Eurospeedway. Last but not least, there is also a special treat for the fans: On both days the admission to the grandstands and the paddock is completely free!
